Feeling secure in your home investment.

“You’re a magician… like a crack magician!”

That’s what Bill said about eight years ago.

But before that day, I was working for a home investment company in Nashville at the time. My boss knew my background in art so he asked me if I could figure out how to repair cosmetic cracks that kept coming up on home inspection reports.

I told him I’d try.

After a few years of adjusting the technique, with much success, I was finishing up a home one day when a neighbor (Bill) came out and commented on my work. He asked if I had time to fix his crack while I was out.

He showed me the spot. I fixed it. He couldn’t find where I did the repair. He brought his wife out to see if she could find it as well. No luck. That’s when he called me a crack magician.

The name stuck. The Crack Magician was born.

And it’s a good thing because since that time I’ve heard many stories that go like this:

“I got my house under contract, but the inspector tried to convince me that my house was falling down, evidenced by cracks. They said I’d have to get a structural engineer out here to sign off OR (wink, wink) you could just $10,000 off the asking price and we can call it good.”

Or like this:

“I called one of those foundation companies and they wanted $12,000 to fix these cracks. They said they’d have to lift up the entire corner of the house, but it hasn’t moved in 20 years!”

As many people know, they call it the ‘hills of Tennessee’ for a reason. Most brick homes will settle and have some cracking. Most of it’s not structural.

This is where I come in. Most traditional repairs stick out like a sore thumb with bright white mortar. They can call even more attention to a crack than before.

When I’m done, no one will ever notice it again.

I realized that no one else provides this service, so someone should.

It’s as simple as that.
